Studying Theater in Edinburgh Dates: August 5 - August 19 Summer (2 weeks), 3 credits See contemporary theater, cutting-edge dance, classical music, art exhibitions, and book fairs in Scotland. Experience Edinburgh and the surrounding breath-taking landscape and culture through travel and art. At the Edinburgh Fringe and International Festival, founded in 1947, more than 17,000 performers come to Scotland from some of the most important companies worldwide, and stage their work in 300 venues! Under the guidance of Theater faculty Zishan Ugurlu, students will delve into the field of dramatic criticism through the lens of the actor, director, and playwright. Every night in this two week course, students will see cutting-edge performances at the Edinburgh Fringe and International Festival and record their impressions. Integrating performance terminology, students will investigate the choices presented in each production. This class will challenge students to not only appreciate art, but also develop their own critical voices. No previous acting experience necessary. 2.5 minimum GPA required. This course is three credits and fulfills a LINA requirement.
